Steak Tartare
This recipe lets me imagine myself in a French bistro, and pairs exceptionally well with a red wine.
Serves 2
Ingredients-
4-8 ounces (depending how how hungry you are) filet mignon (can substitute sirloin)
2 t lemon juice
1 egg yolk
1/2 shallot, minced
1 T dijon or spicy mustard
1 T chopped parsley
1 T olive oil
Salt and Pepper to taste
Optional-
Top with egg yolk
Extra parsley
Directions-
First, clean up and trim your steak. Then get to chopping! Chop your steak into a mince. Transfer to a bowl. Combine with the rest of your ingredients and mix well. Place in a ring mold (or mason jar lid) to make the perfect round before plating. Top with extra parsley and an egg yolk if you like.
