A new chapter begins

In the next week or 2 I will be officially  recognized by the state of Louisiana as an LMT.  It's been a wild ride to get here, and I am so very grateful for everyone's love and support on this journey.

If you had asked me last September if I  thought I would have almost all of my dreams and goals realized in a year, I probably would have laughed in your face.  Fast forward a year, and now I will be an LMT, a Traditional Naturopath (later this year), and the proud owner of a 20 acre homestead.  Not even in my wildest dreams would I have expected that.

It wasn't an easy journey though.  There were plenty of weekends in 2019 that I just flat out didn't want to go.  I didn't want to spend another weekend in a hotel room away from my beautiful family, and my own bed.  There were times on those weekends that the thought of another 11 hour day seemed daunting at best.  There were times where I didn't want to read even one more word of a chapter in order to pass the test of the weekend.  I got through it though.

And then.....and then 2020 happened.  On a personal note my 2020 started off with a bang.  My oldest suffered 3rd degree burns while helping make dinner one night, and had to spend a week in the hospital.  That weekend was probably one of the worst weeks of my life....but still I went to class (via Zoom) from the hospital room.

March came in and we had no idea what was going to happen  next as our state went into mandatory quarantine.  Still, we persevered.  We attended class via Zoom, we took our tests online, we put in extra hours and attended virtual continuing education courses to make sure we were covered.  We got through the quarantine.

The weekend before we graduated, the unthinkable happened when Hurricane Laura plowed through Lake Charles, where our school was located.  We were devastated, for our classmates, our teachers, our school.  Yet still....we carried on.  We had class in a different town at a different school.  We found extra clients for clinicals, and we finally....yes, finally, graduated.

It was rough, it was not the year I expected, but it serves to make me realize that if you want something bad enough, you go after it, and you don't let go.

So thank you, each and every one of you for being there for me this year.  I cannot wait to officially open Green Barn Therapies to massage.

With love and light,
Wendi
