Big Kahuna Burger (Inspired by From Dusk Till Dawn)
If you have ever seen a Tarentino movie you have probably caught a glimpse of the famous "Big Kahuna Burger". From Dusk till Dawn is one of my favorite vampire movies of all time. This is my take on the tasty treat, vampires not included.
And while this burger is 100% kid friendly the movie is not just FYI.
Ingredients-
1 onion, thinly sliced
2 T olive oil
Burger patties (1 per person)- we like to use the frozen patties from Costco to make life easy
Pineapple slices , fresh or canned
Primal Brand Korean BBQ sauce OR teriyaki sauce
Monterey Jack OR cheddar cheese slices
Homemade or clean ingredient hamburger buns
Burgers Toppings-
Lettuce, tomato, pickle
Directions-
First caramelize your onion in a pan (cast iron works best for me) with your oil on low heat, stirring frequently until soft and brown (20-25 min).
Remove and set aside.
While your onions cook, make your burgers how you like.
Place your pineapple slices on a sheet pan and broil until just browned.
To serve-
Spread your buns with your bbq or teriyaki sauce, followed by a burger patty, cheese, a spoonful on caramelized onions, lettuce, tomato, and pickle.
Serve with garlic seasoned potato wedges to keep the vampires at bay.
